Remember back in 1987, watching Friday Night Videos on channel four,
when Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love” video came on? We all thought,
“Who is that old guy with all those robo-models?” If you watched it with
Anne Chambers, like I did, you waited for the moment she would say,
“There! That one! She’s my cousin!” and you thought, “How can you tell?”
The irony in this story is that in 1987, that “old guy” was 38 years old. How did
that happen? Where did the time go? When did we become “that old guy” to those
kids who look much younger than we ever did in high school?Believe it or not,
that is us. We are twenty years older than we were the first time we saw
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or the last time we watched LA Law. So now what?
I think it’s time for a party! Let’s celebrate the passing of twenty years. After all,
we’ve left our big bangs & acid wash jeans behind us and experienced real life!
We’ve all had successes & failures, beginnings & endings, highs & lows.
These varied experiences have made each one of us much more interesting
as people than we were twenty years ago. So let’s do it; let’s get together.
Let’s remind ourselves of those carefree days we didn’t fully appreciate.
But more importantly, let’s share the people we’ve become. Let’s rekindle
friendships while finding commonalities we share with people we never really
knew in high school. August 3-5, 2007, is the time to make it happen.
Your reunion committee has some great ideas and plans, and there is room
for everyone to join in the fun. We hope you’ll join us! Read further to find out more.
